World Cup 10m Innsbruck and Austria Open 2026 – three days on the line
Day One: Austria Open Mixed Events
Over years, the schedule follows a pattern proved by time. The organisers offer in the afternoon of the arrival day two mixed events: one in the U23 category and one in the open class, as a warmup for the international participants before the World Cup.
We noted a very positive trend in the growing numbers of U23 starters – do we witness a new generation already? In any case, the fight for the finals was on from the first minute and the finals themselves brought some surprises.
In the U23 Mixed Final, the 5 best teams entered the line in the more or less predictable order: France 1 before France 2 and Germany / BSSB1. What nobody expected was the stable performance of the very young newcomer team from Styria (AUT). The pair Laura FREITAG and Johannes HOFFELNER worked up their way from the initial 4th place until the final shoot-off for gold – and they won. The French teams finally swapped places, with FRA2 (Axele THOMAS / Yanis SAITRE) taking silver and FRA1 (Lily RENTET / Julien OSWALT) on bronze position.
Open Class Mixed brought less drama, with two German and three French teams on the line and the pairings consisting of shooters having a long medal record from the past, the question of winners was a question of the best moment. With the second Bavarian team (Jolanda PRINZ / Simon EIGLSPERGER) instantly taking over the lead almost till the last shot, the spectator would assume to follow the winner; but the difference to team FRA1 (Lisa ROETTELÉ / Michael DHALLUIN) was constantly not more than 1 point and the hunt for gold was on. The French team made it with the last shot, moving the GER/BSSB2 team to the silver position. Third place went to GER/BSSB1 with Sandra REIMANN / Marius KLÖCKERS.

Day Two: World Cup #1 – Gold for Lisa Roettelé and Simon Eiglsperger
World Cup #1
Starting with early morning, the 44 lanes in Innsbruck filled with shooters competing not only for World Cup medals and world ranking points, but in most cases also for qualification places within their national federations for the upcoming European Championships in Châteauroux (FRA). Each federation sent therefore their strongest candidates. Although the results were – on a range known for world records in the previous years – slightly below expectations, the ranks had these strong names on the top.
In the category of women, the duel for gold between Lisa ROETTELÉ (FRA) and Jolanda PRINZ (GER) continued from last year. Both delivered the same result (391), but the last series of 98 decided in favour of Lisa this time. Third place went to the 2010 World Champion Sandra REIMANN (GER). A nice surprise was the 389 by Katharina HINTERSEER (AUT) on the 4th position, earning her 50 World Cup points.
World Cup #1 Men was dominated by German shooters: of the first 7 positions, except for the 4th place, 6 went to Germany.
Within a field of 37 starters, the top position was secured by Simon EIGLSPERGER with 393, followed by Elias STELZL (392) and Manuel SCHMIED (391). Honorable mention: on the line we spotted Martin OBOROVEČKI (CRO), acting Field Crossbow World Champion and World Cup winner; not that far from earning Match World Cup points as well.

Simon EIGLSPERGER (GER) - the most successful man in Innsbruck
Austria Open – U23 and Seniors Finals
In the U23 class, we listed 19 female and 13 male shooters, apparently the highest number of young participants in the history of the competition. The finals also delivered close duels: in the men’s category, Elias STELZL (GER), already high scoring in World Cup, earned another silver medal, losing to his teammate Raphael WITT (GER) by one point with the last shot. Bronze went to Yanis SAITRE (FRA). In the women’s category, the decision was even closer, leading the first two shooters into a shoot-off. The one shot extra decided that Anna WALDHÖR (GER) took gold before Zoe ZASS (AUT). Third place was taken by Lea Sophie BENEKE (GER). In the senior’s category, the leading Marco SCHREIECK (GER) entered and left the finals on the first position, allowing himself even a 7 as the last shot; still gold wit a lead of 2 points. The silver medal winner, Katja BLOS (GER) worked her way up from the 6th position and the bronze medal winner, Volker APPEL (GER) from the 5th position.
Day Three: World Cup #2 – Now Double Gold for Lisa Roettelé and Simon Eiglsperger
World Cup #2
In the category of women, the duel for gold between Lisa ROETTELÉ (FRA) and Jolanda PRINZ (GER) continued from last year – and from the previous day as well. This time was the victory of Lisa more obvious, with 395 to 392, earning her the second gold and an early placement on the top of the world ranking. Silver and the second world ranking position goes to Jolanda. The bronze medal for the third place on this day was awarded to Léna GIANNINI (FRA) with 391.
2nd World Cup Day for men brought the same arrangement on the first two places as in the women’s competition – the first Simon EIGLSPERGER (GER) and second Elias STELZL (GER) defended their places from the previous day. The German dominance was disturbed by French and Czech shooters this time, having Mathis PASCAL (FRA) on the bronze position. With 397 points recorded Simon the highest score of all competitions, just 2 points below the world record.
Austria Open – Men and Women
In the men’s final, it looked as the gold would go to other country than France or Germany. Joel BRÜSCHWEILER kept the lead for a long time, but his last 8 decided on silver at the end. The gold went to Marius KLÖCKERS (GER), who lifted himself from 6th place with a consistent performance. Simon EIGLSPERGER (GER), already in possession of two gold medals from the World Cups, extended his collection with a bronze one.
Lisa ROETTELÉ (FRA) can see herself as the most successful competitor of these three days. With two golds in World Cups, one gold in Mixed Teams, she added a fourth gold after defending her first place on entering the finals, along with her teammate Léna GIANNINI (FRA) who did the same for the second place. The bronze medal was won for Switzerland by Joëlle BAUMGATNER.

Lisa ROETTELÉ (FRA) - the most golds from all three days
The scoring software Resulty, provided by Swiss developers, was used in Innsbruck for the first time after a successful pilot at the 2025 World Cup Final in Winterthur. The development team assisted the users in entering the scores, maintaining athlete information and processing the results of qualifications and finals. This load test with high number of competitors, multiple starts, multiple scoring setups and specific requirements on results communications, provide valuable information for its deployment at the upcoming European Championships and for future worldwide usage.
All finals were streamed live to the IAU Facebook profile. They can be also found on the IAU Youtube channel in a separate playlist.
